The Homestead
A new construction ranch residence on a 49-acre property outside Bozeman, Montana, developed alongside multiple campus buildings over several years. The home incorporates preserved elements of an original 1800s homestead relocated on site, blending heritage with new construction. Nearly all furnishings were custom-designed or heavily modified, creating a cohesive interior language rooted in craft and materiality.
The design emphasizes tactile layering—linen walls, tumbled stone, plaid stair runners, and custom millwork details repeated across rooms to create continuity. Personal artifacts and site-sourced materials inform bespoke furnishings, including bridles repurposed into soft goods and sculptural woodwork developed with local artisans.
